A bird doesn't sing because it has an answer...

So I might have stolen the idea for the pelmet board from another blogger, but this next idea was completely original! Using a painting canvas (like my other wall art), fabric, some iron on daisies from Michael's, white spray paint and the innards of a clock... I made a baby room clock! Hooray for finished projects! On a completely different note...well maybe not completely, but.... I hit 35 weeks! Only 5 weeks left to go and I've only peed my pants twice....both in the last 24 hours.... We also finished up our birthing class at Good Samaritan Hospital (Corvallis). They made us take group shots....first of the moms in order of due date (I'm in the middle). And then of the daddies (they had to stick out their stomachs like they were pregnant too - Bryan loved this - NOT). Birthing class was quite the experience....lots of weirdos. Can everyone just pause and breathe a sigh of relief that my camera has returned to me? Ahh....I forgot how much better pics from an SLR look. Today was a good day. Two of my latest endeavors came to fruition...I finally finished the pelmet board for the baby's room and the UPS guy brought my camera back to me after its vacation at Nikon repair in El Segundo, CA. Both of these projects started on the same day (Jan. 8 - when I ordered the material for the pelmet board and mailed off my camera) and took way too long to finish! The polka dot material was the worst...the order was processed and sent by Fabrics.com on Jan. 13, but all the storms in Georgia delayed all the shipping. It finally arrived yesterday, a ridiculous 17 days after I ordered it!! My camera actually took less time to fix than I anticipated, so I was delighted to find my fixed camera at my doorstep this afternoon! Ahhh, having my camera back is seriously awesome! We went to another Blazer game a week ago, and I've put off putting up the photo....se here ya go. That's me at 33.5 weeks. Now on to my real post/rant. Sleeping is no longer something I look forward to, it has become a chore. Although I yawn continuously throughout the day and am generally very tired, when we go to bed every night, I'm pretty much dreading the next 6 hours of my life. Actually, the hip pain doesn't really kick in until around 2 a.m....around when Sun comes home every night. So I sleep for about 3 hours, and then wake up from my hip hurting. I then attempt to roll over (which is much more difficult these days) without waking up Bryan (which is pretty much impossible these days). Then, after about another hour of fitful sleeping, the other hip starts to hurt, so the process is repeated....again and again until it's just not worth it anymore

We bought this old wooden dresser on Craigslist for $30. After lots of sanding and staining on Bryan's part, here is the finished product (below)... we bought new knobs too ($16) and painted them to match the polka dots and the wall. I also got a cute basket to put on top...it will probably hold diapers. We are going to use the dresser as a changing table too. I've also finished two of the wall art canvases.... here are the corners!

Korean translation = Ka - ree - sah. There is no "ri" (as in Cha-ri-ssa) sound in Korean...so this is as good as it gets. In response to all the doubters I meet every day....yes, this is me at 32 weeks. Yes, I'm due in 8 weeks. I'm sorry I'm not as big as you were when you were pregnant. We started work on the baby room this past week. Bryan finished painting in one day! One wall is this pink/purple color, the other three are more of a beige with a yellow tint. For the wall art, by mother in law and sister in law helped me pick out fabric to stretch over these canvases. This is what they look like after a few staples...yay! Stay tuned for more soon!

A little late, but here are some pics from New Years. It was a year of babies for my friends Kari and Mallory....their little girls Kylie and Eden joined Kylie's big sister Isla as the kiddos this year. Next year, there will be one more little girl compliments of the Bernards! Even with the kids, we all made it to midnight, when we completed our annual traditions. I'm not sure what the guys are doing here....it looks like they peed all over the ground, but that's just the mess left over after the girl tradition (it's Martinelli's, not pee). The week before Christmas, Bryan tackled closet building for the first time. Our fourth bedroom/bonus room did not come with a closet...just a random divot in the wall (as seen below). Since we need Lauren's room for the baby room, we wanted to move her into the bonus room, but that girl DEFINITELY needs a closet, so Bryan set to work. I actually helped with the framing too. Bryan's dad helped him with the drywalling... And then Bryan textured and painted it by himself. And here's the finished product, complete with her curtains (instead of a closet door), and Bryan put in a rod for hanging clothes, and a shelf. Here's the view of her empty room from the door, with her new curtains around the huge window at the end. She loves her new room....we never see her anymore because she lives in there!
