Catching up

Image
I haven't updated in a while, so now there's lots of photos!  The Bartruffs came for lunch last weekend, on their way to a Beavers baseball game.  It was great to see them and catch up on life. We are finally getting to enjoy some good weather, though Cayden absolutely loves being outside, rain or shine. Her favorite thing to do at our house is play with the little rocks next to our driveway. She tastes them, brings them to us, and we throw them back.    My cousin Jilynne came to visit last weekend too. She is friends with Lauren, so they hung out doing crazy stuff, including dressing Cayden up in Great Grandma Shrewsbury's wig. Not sure how Jilynne ended up with that.  On Wednesday, Cayden and I went to have lunch with my older brother, Steven.  We had some tasty pizza and then uncle Steven played his guitar for us. Cayden loves musical instruments (pianos, guitars, recorders, etc.) and she has recently learned how to dance ar...

Drama queen

Yes, I think my daughter has a future in acting.  I can't help but laugh when I look at this picture....because this is her discovery face. When she sees something interesting, her mouth gets really big.  Here, she just discovered how to unplug the tub drain.....so exciting!  J is definitely one of her favorite letters,  because it's the beginning letter of BOTH of her grandmas' names!   She likes to stick her face in the water, and today she ended up with a bubble beard too!  Another new discovery....what is that thing even called?  The shower maker? Not sure about that one, but it's fun to play with!

First taste of chocolate

This is the face tasting chocolate. Pretty surprising, huh? The chocolate came in Cayden's Easter basket from Great Grandma Hunter on Thursday.  More surprises were to some on Saturday when we went to the  Grant Ave. Easter egg hunt at MLK Jr. Park.  Cayden was in the "under 2" group, and she got 6 eggs! Last year, at Easter, she fit in that basket! My parents came for the Easter egg hunt, since we weren't gonna be able to see them on Easter day  Here is Cayden on Easter day at church with her little friend. They look so spiffy!  Don't you just love her Easter dress? She got it for her birthday from pastor and his wife.

Back down from the mountaintop

We made it home!   We were so blessed on our trip, but so happy to come home to our little girl!   While we were gone, Cayden stayed with Bryan's parents for 4 days and my parents for 4 days. Things that have changed since we left: - She doesn't fall over all the time anymore while walking (even in shoes!) - She hardly eats any baby food anymore - She can clearly say "uh......oh" (really slow, with a big break between words) - She sleeps through the night consistently - Gives open-mouth kisses and last, but certainly not least: - SHE THROWS FITS The latter on that list is the apparent drawback of leaving your child with her beloved grandparents for 8 days. They will never admit it, but I'm pretty sure she's become s.p.o.i.l.e.d. In an effort to nip the fits in the bud, Cayden learned how to sit in the corner yesterday. I told her she couldn't go outside when I let Macie in, and she just started screaming and crying! Unbelievable. So I s...
