Our new house

So we moved into our new house July 6, but I am really bad at keeping everyone up-to-date, so I am finally posting photos of our house, including our before and after photos. So here's the scoop...Bryan and I had been living in an apartment in South Salem for over two years (since we got married). Ironically, it was the exact same apartment where Dave and Beth Tinseth lived when they first got married, and Ashley and Paul Higgins moved into it after we moved out! It is very convenient to have someone there who knows us and can give us the stray mail that doesn't get forwarded!

But I digress...

So my aunt Janelle married into the family that owns Thrill-ville (and the KOA behind it), and the house (manufactured home) they use to live in when they first got married (20 years ago) recently was vacated when their friends moved out. So my aunt offered the house to us, for rent at $500 per month ($30 less than our apartment!). It is located in the back of the Thrill-ville property and is surrounded by fields (which is why we got Macie!). The house itself is over 2000 sq. ft., four bedrooms, two bath, with two large, vaulted ceilinged great rooms, a kitchen, and a laundry room. It also has a huge barn out back and a carport. It also comes with free water (well water), free garbage, and a free lawn mower (my cousin Jacob who lives up the road). The house came equipped with all appliances, two couches, and two end tables.

One downside was the screaming need for a paint job.
Manufactured homes come with this nasty multicolored wallboard stuff, and the entire house was covered in it. We (along with a work crew of family and friends) painted every wall in the house! Lauren helped me to pick out the colors to paint with....she's awesome at that, in case you were wondering. We have been so blessed with this house!

That's awesome! I bet it is so nice to be in a house and not an apartment. There's just something about an apartment that makes it feel less like "home." Brett and I are looking forward to the day when we can get into a house...however, it's pretty hard to pass up the free living situation. :) Hope things are well!

Hey Char Char,
I really like what you and Bryan did to the place. It is very cute and Lauren did an excellent job helping you pick our paint colors!!! I am glad that the Lord has blessed you with an incredible supportive family and ones that will open their homes to you both to live in! =)
